2026 GO BLUE Community Event
Join us on Thursday, April 9, as we come together to spread awareness of Child Abuse & Neglect in the Springfield/Greene County region. This annual GO BLUE event is a powerful opportunity for our community to stand united, learn, connect, and commit to protecting children and supporting families.

Hosted by the CAN Collaborative of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, this gathering brings together partners, advocates, and community members who believe every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.

Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Greene County Family Justice Center (1418 E. Pythian St., Springfield, MO 65802)

What to Expect:

The story of the Kilties begins in 1926, when Springfield's beloved "Music Man," Dr. Robert Ritchie Robertson — a native of Scotland — set out to create something the world had never seen before. Already credited with organizing the largest Boy Scout Band in the United States, Dr. Robertson turned his attention to the young women of Springfield's high schools. Concerned that there were no constructive organizations for high school-aged girls, he drew on his Scottish heritage and founded the first all-girl drum and bugle corps in the United States. Take a walk through Kiltie history, with a display of photos and memorabilia from the past 100 years.

Woodland Heights Creatives presents “Art Talks at the Charlie” on April 10th at 7:00 PM at the Charlie Norr Community Center (316 W Atlantic St) for a special discussion with guest speaker Barbara Vicente.

Barbara Vicente has been weaving baskets since 1990 and never gets bored with the process. There are just so many materials to work with and styles of baskets to create! Some baskets are functional and others are created purely as art pieces. Join Barbara at this show-and-tell discussion about basketry. Barbara will cover the history of basketry, materials, tools, and weaving styles.

Relax, recharge, and reconnect "On the Lawn" at the Springfield Art Museum.

Each month, the Museum's Hatch Lawn comes alive with drop-in outdoor activities, including hands-on art experiences for all ages, yoga and wellness sessions, Fassnight Creek cleanup volunteering, live music, yard games, and more.
