With over 7 million followers across his social media, Josh Johnson was recently called “the funniest guy on the internet” by WIRED and is a star on the rise. He is an Emmy-nominated writer, stand-up comedian, actor, and NAACP award-winner from Louisiana by way of Chicago. Johnson is currently a rotating host and correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy & Peabody Award-winning program The Daily Show where he was previously a writer for seven years. Johnson is also a former writer and performer on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he made his late-night debut
in 2017.
As a stand-up, Johnson headlines theaters, clubs, colleges, and festivals around the world and you can currently find him on his FLOWERS TOUR. He is also a prolific writer and performer who puts out weekly stand up sets on his YouTube channel. In 2024, Johnson released 28 hours of stand up and he is on track to exceed that amount this year. The content on his YouTube channel has been viewed over 340 million times by people all over the world.

The Dade County Community Theatre will present A Twisted Christmas Carol by Phil Olson December 12-20 at the Dade County ArtConnect Center.

A beloved masterwork returns with bold, communal spirit as singers from across the Ozarks present a large-scale performance of Handel’s Messiah.

This collaborative event will feature a large ensemble of musicians, including a professional orchestra and soloists, bringing this sacred score to life in full force.

Children ages 7 and older are invited to attend Merry Movie Medley from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the Ash Grove Branch Library, 101 E. Main St.

An Audition Preparatory Workshop for Springfield Little Theatre's production of Sweeny Todd will be offered Monday, December 15th from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at The Judy.

Whether it’s your first audition or your 20th, everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop. Learn how to choose the material that’s best for you, develop your cold reading skills, improve your vocal selections, survive a dance audition, and make your very best impression.

Participants are asked to prepare a one-minute vocal selection and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. If you need help finding a selection that works for you, no worries, SLT can help you accomplish that at the workshop. A movement combination will also be taught, and participants will have the opportunity to explore cold readings, as well.

Adults are invited to attend Jane Austen Birthday Celebration from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.

After a year of celebrating, the day of Jane Austen's 250th birthday has arrived. The event will include trivia, a craft and a moment to reflect on this Year With Jane.
