A month after Missouri State University announced it’s joining the Conference USA athletics league, the university athletics director is taking a new job out of state, according to a June 10 news release by Eastern Kentucky University.

The change from the Missouri Valley Conference to CUSA will take effect July, 1, 2025.

Athletics programs, Clif Smart said, can be the front porches to universities.
