George Washington Carver National Monument

The program, “Honoring our Past and Building our Future:  Remembering George Washington Carver,” will start at 11 a.m. today, tomorrow and Sunday (1/5-1/7) at George Washington Carver National Monument, 5646 Carver Rd. in Diamond, MO. 

First Friday Art Walk is tonight (1/5) from 6 to 10 in downtown Springfield. 


Windows at the Fox, a holiday window display, continues through January 20 at the History Museum on the Square.  The exhibit, Birthplace of Route 66:  Memories of the Mother Road, continues through March 10.

Joplin Little Theatre, 3009 W. First St. in Joplin, presents “I’ll be Home for Christmas” tonight and tomorrow night (12/15-12/16) and Sunday (12/17) at 2:30

Joplin Parks and Recreation will host the 11th annual Candy Cane Hunt tonight (12/8) from 6 to 8 at 3301 W. 1st St. in Joplin. 

Candy Cane Lane, a drive-through light display, is open at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, 3825 W. Farm Rd. 146 in Springfield, Friday and Saturday nights from 5 to 8 through December 17.  The cost is $5 per vehicle.  

Midtown Neighborhood Association

The 26th annual Midtown Victorian Homes Tour is tonight (12/1) from 5 to 9 and tomorrow (12/2) from noon to 5.  Tour five historic homes, Central High School and the Drury Diversity Center decked out for the holidays. 

The Clayworks Student Organization at Missouri State University is hosting a pottery sale today (12/1) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Plaster Student Union.
