City Utilities of Springfield

City Utilities is building the structures as part of an effort to expand power generation.

In this segment of the KSMU Sense of Community Series, "Climate Change in the Ozarks," we look at how two Springfield organizations — City Utilities and Watershed —are prioritizing environmentally friendly solutions in the face of climate change.

The board met for their regular meeting Thursday. During their finance report they heard about financial losses from storms this past April and June and about hotter than average temperatures in July.

City Utility crews are receiving help from other utility companies and contractors.

CU officials said its crews and other teams are working hard to restore electricity.

The utility company said the projects are needed to add electric generation capacity.

Dwayne Fulk will take over the top job from Gary Gibson who's retiring at the end of the year.

An online survey is available through July 15 to allow the public to weigh in on the next president/CEO of CU.

The lawsuit claims PFAS from the 3M plant in Springfield are ending up in area waterways.

The recommendations stem from the Transit Optimization Study, done by a consultant hired by CU.
