Bridge Replacement Project Topic of Public Meeting Tonight

theconstructionline.com

A $1.8 million project to replace the Route MM-B Bridge over I-44 west of Springfield will result in road closings and traffic interruptions when work starts August 1st.  MODOT will hold an open-house style public meeting tonight (7/15) from 5 to 7 at the First Baptist Church in Brookline to discuss the project and its impact on traffic.

I-44 at Route MM-B will be closed for bridge demolition the weekend of August 1st.  During the demolition, I-44 traffic will be detoured using Route 360, Route 60 and Route 65 on the southern edge of Springfield.

The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by November 1st, although the project isn’t expected to be finished until the middle of December.
