It was a good weekend for deer hunting in Missouri.  Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows that hunters in Missouri harvested more than 97,171 deer during the opening weekend of the November portion of the fall firearms season.

Top harvest counties were Texas, Howell and Franklin Counties.

Last year, hunters checked just over 91,400 deer during the opening weekend of the season—that’s nearly 6000 less than this year.

The November portion of the fall firearms deer season goes through November 24th.  Archery deer hunting opens again November 25th and goes through January 15th.  And the firearms antlerless portion will run November 25th through December 6th.
