Beginning tomorrow morning, crews will close the northbound off ramp from Route 65 to Battlefield Road in Springfield to all traffic.

The ramp on the southeast corner of the intersection will remain closed from 9 a.m. Tuesday until June 29 as crews tear out the existing ramp and replace it with a new, wider ramp.

The $12.5 million project includes replacing the Battlefield bridge over Route 65 to convert the interchange into the city’s next diverging diamond. Additionally, north and southbound auxiliary lanes on 65 will be built to connect Sunshine Street to Battlefield Road ramps.

Drivers are urged to use the signed detours, which will both travel through Sunshine Street both in the east and west directions.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of September.

See more details about the project and a live video feed of construction through the Missouri Department of Transportation.
