Taney County Adds 9 COVID-19 Deaths To Total Count

Springfield-Greene County Health Department

The Taney County Health Department has updated the number of deaths from COVID-19 in that county.  The new number, according to the department is 28.  That's up nine from what had been listed.  A news release states that several of the deaths date back to mid-August and “are being announced after an exhaustive reconciliation of death certificate data between TCHD and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and following review and confirmation by the Taney County Coroner’s Office.”

Public health officials in Taney County say the announcement was delayed until all three entities could confirm those who died were residents of Taney County and that the cause of death was COVID-19.
