The Springfield Public Schools Board of Education is considering making changes to the current school schedule as the end of the first quarter nears.
Any adjustments would be made after consulting with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, according to SPS officials in a statement.
The board is considering allowing kids in pre-K through second grade to attend class in person five days a week beginning October 26. Grades three through eight might return to five day in person classes on November 9. There would be no change for the second quarter for students in grades nine through 12.
Students who are currently enrolled in the virtual learning option would remain in it.
The district is expected to make a final decision next week.
SPS students who aren’t enrolled in virtual learning currently attend class in person two days a week with virtual learning the other three days.
