What you Need to Know to Run for Zone 4 Springfield City Council

Applications are being accepted for the Zone 4 Springfield City Council seat.  Craig Fishel resigned from that position last week.

The city clerk’s office will accept applications Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through February 16. 

Those who run must be a registered voter in Springfield, be a resident of Springfield for at least two years prior to appointment, be a resident of Zone 4 for at least a year prior to appointment, must not have committed a felony or owe delinquent taxes and must have completed and filed Missouri Department of Revenue form 5120. 

City Council will review the applications at a meeting on February 20.  Finalist interviews are expected the week of February 26. 

Applications are available in the city clerk’s office located on the fourth floor of the Busch Municipal building and online

The person who is elected will serve until the April 2, 2019 election.
