Missouri Secretary of State and U.S. Senate candidate Jason Kander stopped in Springfield today.  He toured Mama Jean’s Natural Market on E. Sunshine.  Kander said it’s great to be able to visit a local small business that has a focus on not only agriculture but local agriculture.

Kander stressed the need for Country of Origin Labeling—and admonished Congress for repealing the requirement last year.

"It's not just about consumers it's about farmers and ranchers, family farmers, ranchers here in Missouri who, you know, understandably they want consumers to know whether or not their product came from China or it came from the United States," he said.

Kander, a Democrat,  is running against incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Roy Blunt.  He said it’s important to visit Springfield because he believes Southwest Missouri will “play a big role in changing Washington.”
