Nixa Seeks District 1 Council Applicants With Pending Vacancy

City of Nixa

The city of Nixa will soon be seeking a replacement on its council, as District 1 member Kyle Vogel has submitted his resignation.

Vogel, who has lived in Nixa for nine years and was serving his second term on council, says he and his family will be moving back to Iowa City, Iowa.

His resignation is effective June 15.

Council will now appoint someone to fill the vacancy. Mayor Brian Steele said Wednesday that interested residents of District 1 need to submit a letter to City Clerk Cindy Robbins by June 1. That chosen applicant will be sworn in on June 15.

The new member will serve until April 2016, at which point a new council member for District 1 will be elected for a one-year term in order to fill the remainder of Vogel’s vacancy.
