Monday (5/27) is Memorial Day, and, there will be several opportunities for honoring veterans before you head to a barbecue or the lake.    Branson has a few events planned over the long weekend, including a Memorial Day Service Monday morning at 11 at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, 1638 E. Highway 76.  The Branson Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 913 said it will hold the service “to honor those who have faithfully defended our Nation and preserved our freedom.”

The Branson Veterans Memorial Museum, 1250 W. Highway 76, will dedicate a Vietnam-era Huey UH-1C helicopter at 9 tomorrow morning (5/27).

Springfield National Cemetery will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday at the cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole.

A Memorial Day service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City will start Monday morning at 10.  It will include laying of wreaths at each military service, a bagpiper playing "Amazing Grace,” Taps played by Bugles Across America and a flyover of World War II vintage aircraft at the conclusion of the service.

And a Memorial Day ceremony starts at 10 a.m. Monday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery’s Committal Shelter, 700 Government Avenue, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
