MODOT Plans to Replace Aging Bridges, Will Host Public Meeting Tomorrow

MODOT

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace three bridges on Highway 76 east of Bradleyville next year.  At a public meeting last spring, area residents expressed concern about closing the highway to replace the bridges.

A follow-up to the first meeting is planned for tomorrow (12/1) from 4:30 to 6 p.m. so MODOT officials can show new plans for handling traffic during construction.

The deteriorating bridges over Beaver Creek, Caney Creek and Kentucky Creek on Route 76 will be replaced starting next summer.  They’re all located between Route 125 at Bradleyville and Taney County Route W near Brownbranch.  The estimated total cost for the three projects is $4.9 million.

The open house-style meeting tomorrow will be at the Bradleyville High School Library.  Those who are unable to attend can visit an online public meeting at moddot.gov/southwest.
