As enrollment climbs at New Covenant Academy, the private Christian school in Springfield says it is welcoming a new principal and guidance counselor.

Don Tuck will become principal of grades 5-8, and assistant principal of grades 9-12. David White assumes the role of elementary guidance counselor. Both Tuck and White have more than 30 years of teaching experience.

New Covenant Academy says the new positions will help other staff focus energies elsewhere, as well as accommodate and accelerate student learning and growth.

The school is approaching an enrollment of 500, and is in the midst of a major renovation that will add six new classrooms, a gym and baseball field.

NCA says that with Tuck’s addition, Chief Academic Officer Mr. Matt Searson will now be able to focus more on vision and continual improvement for student success.  And with White’s hiring, NCA Guidance Counselor Kimberly Petree will focus more in the area of preparation for college admissions and career planning, the school says.
