Books and More Available at Library Book Sale

If you love books, you’re in luck this week:  a huge book sale in Springfield opens to the public today (4/21) and runs through the weekend.  KSMU’s Michele Skalicky has more.

The Friends of the Springfield-Greene County Library book sale began last night with a preview sale for members at Remington’s on W. Republic Rd.  The sale opens to the public today (4/21) and runs through Sunday.

Jim Moore, with Friends of the Library, said they’ll have some interesting items for sale.

'We had a donation of 15,000 baseball cards, so we're gonna put those on for sale, and we also have a book that was signed by Elizabeth Taylor, also have a book that was signed by President George Bush," he said.

There will, of course, be lots of books for sale from cookbooks to children’s books.

"Collectibles, puzzles, just about name anything we probably have it," he said.

Hours for the regular book sale are 10 to 8 today through Friday, 10 to 5 Saturday and 1 to 5 on Sunday.

Michele Skalicky has worked at KSMU since the station occupied the old white house at National and Grand. She enjoys working on both the announcing side and in news and has been the recipient of statewide and national awards for news reporting. She likes to tell stories that make a difference. Michele enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, camping and leisurely kayaking.
