Funeral Services Planned for Trooper Killed in Line of Duty
Funeral services have been announced for a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper who was killed in the line of duty. Twenty-five-year-old James Bava was killed in a car crash Friday while trying to stop a motorcyclist he had said had committed a traffic violation in Audrain County.
The Highway Patrol says it appears that Bava lost control of his car as he tried to overtake a vehicle.
Visitation for Bava will be held Thursday (9/3) from 4 to 8 at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles. The funeral service will be held Friday morning (9/4) at 9:30 at the Dardenne Presbyterian Church in Dardenne Prairie.
Memorial contributions can be made to the MASTERS, an organization that provides financial aid to the surviving family members of troopers who are killed in the line of duty. Their address is: Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society, 5287 Hwy. 67 N., Poplar Bluff, Missouri 63901
Governor Jay Nixon says flags in Missouri will fly at half-staff on Friday.
