Ruell Chappell, with Play it Forward, will perform live at the Backlot Alamo Drafthouse Friday night at 6 as part of Studio Live Social Hour.  His group, Play it Forward, will accept donations of gently used, playable musical instruments for children in need.  View more details here

Aaron Lewis will bring his “The State I’m in Tour:  Acoustic Songs and Stories” to the Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East in Springfield, Friday night (3/8) at 8. 

Springfield Art Museum

*Due to expected winter weather Saturday night into Sunday, be sure to check with the sponsoring organizations ahead of time to be sure they haven't canceled their events.

The Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr. in Springfield, will host “Pre-K Project Days” Friday morning (3/1) at 10:30.  Admission is $5.  The event includes storytime and a hands-on art project. 

Master Gardeners of Greene County

The Lawn and Garden Show is Friday (2/22) and Saturday (2/23) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (2/24) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.  The event will feature educational seminars by Master Gardeners as well as a variety of vendors.  Admission is $5, and kids six and younger get in free. 

Missouri State University

The Student Showcase, part of Missouri State University’s celebration of Black History Month, is Friday night (2/15) from 5:30 to 7 in the Plaster Student Union  Ballroom.  Missouri State University students will present a night of art, music and entertainment.  Admission is free. 


C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue will host “Find Your Soul Mutt” Friday night (2/8) from 6 to 8 at White River Brewing Company, 505 W. Commercial in Springfield.  It’s a speed dating event—but with dogs.  The event will include refreshments and live music by Louie Michael.
