Monday night, Springfield City Council voted 8-to-1 to approve the first major overhaul to Springfield’s land development code in 30 years

Over 18 months, city officials, hired consultants and a team of more than 100 community volunteers have pitched in on a comprehensive rewrite of the city’s land development code.

On Tuesday, Springfield voters will decide on Question 1, a ballot initiative that will determine whether a new development can proceed in a neighborhood known for its trails, trees and iconic park.
