Hotel of Terror

City officials said that, in order to build a new Main Street Bridge, the building will have to be torn down and that they haven't been able to negotiate a purchase price with the business's owner.

After a three-month saga, Springfield City Council voted Monday night to repeal a February ordinance allowing eminent domain to buy the Hotel of Terror property downtown.

City officials said the purchase of the building is necessary for daylighting of Jordan Creek.
