NWS Confirms Six Tornadoes in Southwest Missouri Over the Weekend

The National Weather Service has issued its report on tornadoes that resulted in one fatality and property damage in southwest Missouri early Saturday morning. 

An EF-1 tornado with top wind speeds of 100 mph touched down two miles south of Aurora and tracked northeast to the Aurora Motel where one man was killed.  It then tracked northward where it damaged Sutherlands before dissipating, according to the NWS.

Another EF-1 tornado with top wind speeds of 100 mph touched down one and a half miles south of Billings and tracked north/northeast before lifting about a mile south of town.

An EF-1 tornado with peak winds of 95 miles per hour touched down three miles west of Republic and tracked northeast into the western city limits, according to the NWS.

An EF-1 tornado with top winds of 90 miles per hour touched down two miles north/northeast of Seymour and moved north/northeast before dissipating about six miles from Seymour. 

EF-0 tornadoes touched down northwest of Hartville and two miles south of Monett.
