Find a Variety of Plants at Master Gardener Sale

Friends of the Garden

The Greene County Master Gardeners Plant Sale is Saturday (4/25) at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center.  Kelly McGowan is a horticulture education specialist with the University of Missouri Extension.  She said the sale will have more plants than ever before.

"We have lots and lots of perennials, we have succulents, we have hostas, we have lots of native plants," she said.

There will also be a variety of vegetable plants for sale.  McGowan says many of the plants come from the Greene County Master Gardeners’ yards and from the gardens at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park.

Master Gardeners will be available at the sale to answer questions about the plants there.

"In each area of the plant sale we will have trained Master Gardeners there that can answer any questions, can make suggestions, give people advice," she said.

She said people often line up an hour before the sale starts, so she recommended getting there early.

The sale will be held Saturday (4/25) at 7:30 am at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park.

Proceeds benefit the Greene County Master Gardeners education programs.
