The 52nd annual Apple Butter Makin’ Days is Friday and Saturday (10/12-10/13) in Mt. Vernon with arts and crafts, live music, carnival games, apple butter made on the square, food and more.  A parade starts Saturday morning at 9.  

Harvest Fest continues weekends through October 28 at Rutledge-Wilson Community Farm Park, 3825 W. Farm Rd. 146 in Springfield.  There are hayrides, a pumpkin patch, a haunted trail, a corn maze and more.  

The Hollister Grape and Fall Festival, along with the Color Me Grape 5K, will be held Saturday (10/13) in downtown Hollister. 

The Rusty Wheels North Arkansas Old Engine Club will hold their 40th Year Annual Fall Show Friday and Saturday (10/12-10/13) at 5730 U.S. 65 South in Harrison, Arkansas.  Food and camping will be available on the grounds.  

The Springfield-Greene County Library’s “Oh, the Horror!” series will feature the 1992 film, “The Silence of the Lambs,” Friday and Saturday night (10/12-10/13) at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield. Admission is free.   

The Missouri State University Volleyball Bears will host Drake Friday night (10/12) and UNI Saturday night (10/13) at 7 at Hammons Student Center.  For ticket information, (417) 836-7678 or missouristatetix.com.

The 31st annual Wine and Food Celebration to benefit kids’ programming on Ozarks Public Television is Saturday (10/13) from 2 to 5 p.m. at the White River Conference Center in Springfield.  Sample food from local restaurants, craft beer and cocktails.  Admission is $35 in advance and $50 at the door.  

The Ozark Folklife Festival will be held Saturday (10/13) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tyler Bend on the Buffalo National River with live music and food.    

The Southwest Missouri Art and Craft Guild will host the 24th annual Art in the Park Saturday and Sunday (10/13-10/14) from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Sequiota Park, 3500 S. Lone Pine in Springfield.  It's a fine art and contemporary craft show and sale. 

Ozarks Technical Community College will host a Car and Motorcycle Show Saturday (10/13) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the OTC campus at Chestnut and National. 

Downtown Springfield will be transformed into a pop up mini golf course Saturday (10/13).  The Downtown Open will run from noon to 9 p.m. at several locations.  

Whispering Willows Senior Dog Sanctuary will host a Howl-O-Ween Costume Party Saturday (10/13) at 6:30 p.m. in Hermitage. 

The Ozarks Community Action Corporation will host a Monopoly Tournament Saturday (10/13) at the Branson Best Western Inn and Conference Center. 

The Child Advocacy Center will host the Think Small, Glow Big Festival Saturday (10/13) at 4:30 in West Plains.  It will feature a hot air balloon glow,  the Gravel Dash Fun Run, a s'mores bar, pumpkin decorating, hayride, concessions and more. 

The program, “Field to Freezer,” will be held Saturday morning (10/13) from 8:30 to 11:30 at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range in Ash Grove.  The program for new deer hunters, will teach regulations, processing, field dressing and more.  To register, (417) 742-4361.

The I-44 Fall Festival Craft Show and Swap Meet is Saturday and Sunday (10/13-10/14) at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon.  

A Genealogy Symposium will be held Saturday (10/13) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Library Center.  The event will cover several topics, including Tracing your Civil War Ancestor and Understanding the Federal Land System.    

The program, "Ask the Experts: Planning for Retirement," will start Saturday morning (10/13) at 10 at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library.  

An Arachnid Hike will be held Saturday (10/13) at 9 a.m. at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  Learn about spiders, ticks and mites while viewing them in their natural habitat.  

The Clarence Holland Fishing Derby will be held Saturday and Sunday (10/13-10/14) at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon.  

The Gillioz Theatre’s 92nd Anniversary Event, featuring the Master of Silent Film Festival and the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra, is Saturday night (10/13) at 7:30 at the theatre, 325 Park Central East.  

North Heights Porchfest will be held Saturday (10/13) from 3 to 7 p.m. in Joplin’s North Heights neighborhood.  Porches will serve as mini stages for musicians.  There will also be food trucks, games and activities.  

The Maple Leaf Bicycle Tour is Saturday (10/13) in Carthage, presented by the Joplin Trails Coalition.  Choose from five different rides.  

The Forest Bright, Forest Night Hike will start Saturday night (10/13) at 7:45 at Wildcat Glades Park in Joplin.  

The Hartville Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 40th annual Fall Festival Saturday (10/13) with carnival rides, a parade, live entertainment, food and more.  

"Pumpkin Science," for preschool through second grade, will be held Saturday morning (10/13) at 10:30 at the Library Center.  

Adults are invited to stop by the Park Central Branch Library at 1 p.m. Saturday for a craft session.  They'll make Halloween pompom garlands.  Materials will be provided.  

The Friends of the Garden Autumn Concert Series continues Sunday afternoon (10/14) at 2 at the Springfield Botanical Gardens, 2400 S. Scenic, with Casey and the Atta Boys. The free concert will take place at the Peace through People Pavilion.  Take blankets or lawn chairs.  

The Sunday Concert Series continues Sunday afternoon (10/14) at 2 at the Library Center with the Finley River Boys.
