No New COVID-19 Deaths To Report In Greene County During Weekly Report Wednesday

KSMU Archives

For the first time in 35 weeks, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department said Wednesday there had been no COVID-19 deaths in the past week.  According to the department, the last stretch of time they went without reporting any new fatalities was July 9-22, 2020.

Acting director of the health department, Katie Towns, said in a news release, “this is long-awaited news that our community should be encouraged by.”  But she said people still need to take steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Since March 23, 2020 422 Greene County residents have died of COVID-19.
