Nearly $12 million will go to Missouri health centers for coronavirus response.
The funding is provided through the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, according to U.S. Senator Roy Blunt’s office. It will go to 29 Missouri Health Centers. Locally, Douglas County Public Health Services Group will receive just over $301,000. The Fordland Clinic will get more than $220,000. The Ozark Tri-County Health Care Consortium in Neosho has been granted nearly $498,000, and the Rural Alliance for Better Family Health in West Plains will receive more than $215,000.
According to Blunt’s office, the money will be used to expand testing capacities, purchase personal protective equipment and help cover the costs of other coronavirus-related response activities.
Missouri community health centers received a total of nearly $30 million in funding through the CARES Act and the first coronavirus response bill.
