Greene County Records 44th Death From COVID-19 As MO Cases Top 100,000

There’s been another death from COVID-19 in Greene County.  According to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, the latest death was a man in his 70s with underlying health conditions.

Fourteen COVID-19 deaths have been reported by the Health Department in September. A total of 44 Greene County residents has died from COVID-19.  As of Sunday, Greene County had a total of 4,833 cases, and 2,296 of those were active.  View the Greene County COVID-19 Dashboard here.

Meanwhile, Missouri’s number of COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began topped 100,000 over the weekend.  As of Sunday afternoon, there were 102,747 cases and 1,705 deaths from COVID-19.  Christian, Webster and Wright Counties were on the top 10 list for highest seven-day percent increase in cases.  There’s been a 23 percent increase in cases in the last week in Christian County and a 21 percent increase in Webster County.  Wright County has seen a 28 percent increase in the last seven days.
