Big Night For GOP In Missouri, Greene County Amid Record-Breaking Turnout

The Republican Party won key races in Greene County and Missouri as turnout broke records.

President Donald Trump carried Missouri and its 10 electoral votes by more than 15 points with 92% of precincts reporting. And Republican governor Mike Parson easily won election to a four-year term as governor, beating his nearest challenger, Nicole Galloway. All Missouri House races within Greene County, except the 132^nd and 135^th , were won by Republicans by double-digit margins.

At the Greene county GOP Watch Party in Springfield, leaders and voters said they felt high turnout would benefit Republicans in this part of the state. Teddy Fleck is a registered Greene County voter and has been an election judge. He says turnout was larger than anything he’d seen.

“Everything went smooth. So it was a good day," Fleck said. "Good day at the polls.”

According to the Greene County Clerk’s office, turnout was around 82% -- a clear record for county history.
