Two SW Missourians Appointed to State Commissions

Governor Mike Parson Friday announced appointments to state boards and commissions.  Two southwest Missouri residents were named.  Sherman “Bill” Birkes of Joplin was appointed to the Missouri Ethics Commission. He’s a retired banker and financial analyst and a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army Reserves and Missouri National Guard.

Former 20th district Missouri senator and 141st district representative, Jay Wasson, was named to the Missouri Tourism Commission.  He’s served as mayor of Nixa and works as a real estate developer.
