Besides a hotly contested GOP gubernatorial race and other statewide contests, southwest Missourians Tuesday will choose among candidates for U.S. Congress, state representative and county office positions.

There are over 30 combined state senate and state house seats from southwest Missouri on this year’s primary ballot, with many candidates unopposed.  Some local ballots will also ask citizens to approve new sales taxes or continue existing ones.

Among the contested races, we've compiled a list of who residents throughout our region will have to choose from during Tuesday’s primary. Take a look.

In Greene County, an election watch party is scheduled Tuesday from 7-9 pm by The Association of Republicans Getting Everyone Together (TARGET) at Classic Rock Coffee, 1900 W. Sunset in Springfield. The Greene County Democratic Party is not holding a watch party Tuesday night.
