Women who receive benefits through the Women, Infants & Children or WIC program, can now access benefits in-person at multiple satellite locations.

When the pandemic hit, WIC moved from in-person appointments to phone appointments, but food benefits still had to be loaded onto eWIC cards in person at two locations—on E. Tampa and in Republic on E. Harrison, according to a news release.

Now those benefits can be obtained at three additional locations:  the Missouri Career Center on E. Sunshine weekdays from 8 to 5; Renew United Methodist on S. Farmer Rd. in Willard Tuesdays from 8:30 to 4:30 and NEST Partnership on S. Scenic in Springfield Wednesdays from 8 to 5.

WIC’s mission is to safeguard the health of women, infants and children who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritional foods to enhance diets, and to provide information on healthy eating, and referrals to healthcare and other community resources.

For more information about the WIC program, or to find out if you qualify, call (417) 864-1540 or visit: health.springfieldmo.gov/wic.
