Greene County has topped the 200 mark in the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the latest surge of cases, according to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department’s dashboard.

As of Friday morning, there were 205 people with COVID-19 in Springfield hospitals.  Seventy-three were in critical care.

The last time numbers were that high was on January 11, when 206 people were hospitalized with the illness, and 45 were in critical care.

Find out how to get a COVID-19 vaccine, which health officials say is the best defense against the illness, at vaccine417.com or call (417) 874-1211.
