Mayor To Withdraw Proclamation Of Civil Emergency As COVID-19 Regulations Expire

Springfield Mayor Ken McClure is planning to withdraw the Sixth Proclamation of Civil Emergency at 11:59 Thursday night. That's the same time the city’s COVID-19 regulations expire.

According to the city in a news release, COVID-19 is becoming an endemic disease, which will continue to affect people, especially those who are unvaccinated.

As of Wednesday, 36.68 percent of Greene County residents 16 and older was fully vaccinated, according to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department's dashboard.  There were 43 people in Greene County hospitals with COVID-19, and the seven-day daily rolling average of cases was 27.71.-
