The City of Springfield is seeking public comment on a federal plan that has an impact on how Springfield approaches housing and community issues.

In a civic alert, The City of Springfield announced that it’s looking for public review and comment on the latest U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Annual Action Plan.

The plan is a summary of how government resources will be used to assess the needs of affordable housing and community development here on a local level.

The availability of affordable housing has long been a key point in the wider discussion of Springfield’s fight against poverty.

The city will accept comments and questions up until 5 p.m., May 10.

You can find an electronic copy of the plan here.

Paper copies are available at any Springfield-Greene County library branch.

Written comments and questions can be sent to the city’s Senior Planner Bob Atchley by email, batchley@springfieldmo.gov
