An Earth Day Cleanup open to volunteers is scheduled for April 22nd at Lake Springfield.

The James River Basin Partnership will host their annual cleanup from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. that day. The event will be held in partnership with the Springfield-Greene County Park Board,  Bass Pro Shops and the Missouri Department of Conservation.

All volunteers will be expected to follow COVID-19 safety protocols of social distancing and wearing a mask at all times.

Experienced floaters will have the opportunity to go out to the Creighton Access with their own boats. Some canoes will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

All other volunteers will be given gloves and trash bags to clean up the shorelines of Lake Springfield and the James River. These will begin at the Tailwaters Access and Clay Henshaw Memorial Access.
