Library Invites Photo Submissions That Capture Experiences During Pandemic

Michele Skalicky

A project to preserve images of this historic time in southwest Missouri is underway.  The historical archive, called “Enduring COVID-19 in the Ozarks,” is a project of the Springfield-Greene County Library District.

Brian Grubbs, manager of the library district’s History and Genealogy Department, is coordinating the project.  He wants area residents to submit photos of scenes of life in the Ozarks while they’re practicing self-distancing and staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Photos can be of things like daily life during social distancing, drive-by birthday parties, people wearing masks and empty parking lots.

To submit a photo, go to thelibrary.org/enduringcovid19.

Photos will be shared on social media and will be available on the library district’s digital archive.
