New Option for Library Service Opens in Springfield

Michele Skalicky

The Library Express West is now open.  It’s a large kiosk where library patrons can check out and return materials such as books and DVD’s.  They can also have items sent to that location.

The Library Express West is located at 3872 W. Chestnut Expwy. in Springfield and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.  It offers Wi-Fi from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.

The $199,000 kiosk was funded by the Friends of the Springfield-Greene County Library.

Michele Skalicky has worked at KSMU since the station occupied the old white house at National and Grand. She enjoys working on both the announcing side and in news and has been the recipient of statewide and national awards for news reporting. She likes to tell stories that make a difference. Michele enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, camping and leisurely kayaking.
