New Springfield City Attorney Chosen

City of Springfield

Springfield’s new City Attorney has been named.  City Manager Jason Gage has chosen Rhonda Lewsader, who’s been with the city for 19 years, for the job.

Lewsader has served as interim city attorney since the position was vacated by Frank Romines.

According to the City of Springfield, the city attorney assists city council, city management and all city departments with matters of municipal law and represents the city in all legal matters.  Ordinances and resolutions that go before city council are written by the legal staff. The law department employs 20 people.

Lewsader graduated from Missouri State University and Washington University School of Law.

Michele Skalicky has worked at KSMU since the station occupied the old white house at National and Grand. She enjoys working on both the announcing side and in news and has been the recipient of statewide and national awards for news reporting. She likes to tell stories that make a difference. Michele enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, camping and leisurely kayaking.
