Free medication disposal packets are being offered by the Community Partnership of the Ozarks.  CPO recently received a donation from the AmerisourceBergen Foundation of 2500 DisposeRx packets, and they’ll be available while they last.  CPO says they are safe and ecologically friendly.

The 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows a majority of them were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

According to CPO, many law enforcement agencies have permanent medication drop boxes in their lobbies for safe medication disposal at no cost.
