Sheriff's Office: Deceased Male May be Missing Springfield Man

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says a body found in a wooded area has been tentatively identified as a Springfield man that had been reported missing.
58-year old James E. Baldwin, Jr. was first reported missing in May. The office says in a news release that an autopsy was conducted Thursday. Positive identification is pending lab results, which could take several weeks.
The release says that road construction workers located the body of a deceased male near South State Highway FF and West State Highway M after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
"We are working diligently to bring closure to this family," states Sheriff Jim Arnott. "If anyone has any information about Mr. Baldwin's disappearance or his activities within the past 90 days, we encourage you to call 9-1-1 or the Greene County Sheriff's Office tip line at 417-829-6230."
The Springfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing person. James E. Baldwin is a 58-year-old white male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 160 pounds, brown hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. Baldwin also goes by “JE” and has cerebellar ataxia, which affects his speech.
He was last seen on May 18, 2017. His vehicle was located unoccupied Tuesday, and the police department said circumstances around his disappearance appear to be suspicious.
