9/11 Anniversary Observances Planned for the Ozarks

Lest We Forget
College of the Ozarks

U.S. and Missouri flags at all government buildings statewide will be flown at half-staff on Sunday (9/11) to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Governor Jay Nixon says, we continue to remember and mourn, 15 years later, those whose lives were lost on 9/11.

Some area observances of the anniversary are planned.

The Webb City & Carl Junction Rotary clubs will host a September 11th Memorial Ceremony at Crowder College-Webb City Sunday (9/11) at 1pm. The featured speaker will be Master Chief Corpsman Ronald Mosbaugh, a 31-year retired Navy Reservist.  After the ceremony, the Webb City and Carl Junction Rotary Clubs will host a BBQ for all area first responders at the Webb City Fire Department.  For more information, 417-673-2345.

College of the Ozarks will host a ceremony Monday morning (9/12) at 9 at the “Lest We Forget” Memorial next to the C of O Fire Department on the college’s campus.  The memorial contains a steel column--one of the remaining remnants of the World Trade Center structure.
