UPDATE: Investigation of Missing, Endangered Springfield Resident Continues

According to the Springfield Police Department, "Lanny Jackson is no longer considered missing. On Sept. 5, the body of Jackson was discovered in a conservation area in Douglas County, Missouri. No foul play is suspected in his death."

The Springfield Police Department continues its investigation of a report of a missing and endangered person, and it’s asking for the public’s assistance. Seventy-nine-year-old Lanny D. Jackson went missing from his home in the 1900 block of E. Ridgewood Dr. in Springfield around 11 a.m. on August 27. He left in a silver 2006 Toyota Highlander with MO license plates, YG6P6Y.

According to the police department, Jackson is on medication and may be considered suicidal. He is 6 feet 1 inch, weighs 220 pounds, and has gray hair and blue eyes. He is not wearing his glasses and could be wearing a ball cap saying "USS WASP."

Anyone with information regarding Jackson’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
