The Missouri Lottery says sales for Saturday’s Powerball drawing surpassed all previous records with over $15.8 million in tickets sold.

Lottery officials say since the jackpot was last hit in early November, sales have totaled more than $41.3 million in the state.

They also note that despite no one matching all six numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, over 324,000 winning tickets were sold in Missouri. 10 of those prizes are worth $50,000. Officials encourage players to check their tickets closely.

The next Powerball drawing for Wednesday night is expected to hit a record $1.4 billion, with the cash option worth $868 million.

Players in Missouri are reminded to play early to avoid long lines, sign their tickets immediately and put them in a safe place, and to always play within their means.  A fact sheet about this jackpot, as well as group play information and tips about what to do if you find yourself holding the winning ticket, is available at MOLottery.com.
