Tuesday afternoon, the Jordan Valley Park TIF Commission heard presentations on the four proposals for developing the land between the Springfield Expo Center and the Jordan Valley Car Park.
Bill Kirkman went first.
He's operations partner for the national office in Springfield of accounting firm BKD.
He says the company's proposal includes the construction of a single building with the possibility of adding a second building as the company grows.
In one version of BKD's plan, the company would occupy the top three floors of a five story building.
Mike Van Buskirk is with Zimmer Real Estate Services, a firm consulting with BKD on its proposal.
He says there are several options for the lower two floors.
The commission also heard a presentation from the superintendent of Springfield Public Schools, Norm Ridder.
Ridder discussed the possibility of using the site for a joint administrative building for the district and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.
Ridder says he'd like to centralize the district's administrative offices.
The commission also heard the details on the proposal from John Q. Hammons to build a five-story "class A" office building with first floor retail space.
And there was a presentation from HCW Evergreen. That company wants to bring in a hotel, a Hilton or Embassy Suites.
Rick Huffman spoke to the commission as a representative of HCW Evergreen.
Now that the Jordan Valley TIF Commission has heard presentations on the four proposals, it will consider them before its next meeting on March 5th.
The commission could choose a proposal to recommend to city council during its upcoming meeting.
City council will have the final say on what happens to the land.
Several council members and Mayor Tom Carlson were at Tuesday's commission meeting to hear the presentations.
