You can get rid of your old prescription medicine this weekend during the Prescription Drug Take-Back.  Several locations in southwest Missouri, including Springfield and Nixa, will accept the drugs tomorrow (9/26).

The take-back events offer a safe way to dispose of unused or expired prescription and over the counter meds, which helps to eliminate potential public safety concerns and water contamination.

All medicine, except for sharps and inhalers, will be accepted for free.  Labels and personal information don't need to be removed from the packaging.

The Community Partnership of the Ozarks, which sponsors the events, says in April, 4,814 pounds of medicines were collected at 19 sites throughout CPO's 21-county service region.
