A recent regional summit in Springfield brought together bicycling enthusiasts to talk about how to make the area more bicycle-friendly. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

A recent regional summit in Springfield brought together bicycling enthusiasts to talk about how to make the area more bicycle-friendly.

Bruce Adib-Yazdi is chairman of Springbike Bicycle Advocacy Committee and past president of Ozark Greenways.

He says momentum for the summit came from several areas, including interest from Springfield City Council.

There are a number of stakeholders who want to make it easier for people to use bicycles as a means of transportation.

Adib-Yazdi says the summit brought those interested parties together.

Adib-Yazdi calls the summit a good starting point. He explains what he hopes will happen now.

For anyone who's interested in learning about making Springfield a more bike-friendly community, Adib-Yazdi suggests joining a group that promotes bicycling in the area.
