Programs in Nixa Help Prepare Students for Life After College

Nixa Public Schools

In this segment of Making Democracy Work, Allison Cash talks with Joy Horgan, college and career counselor with Nixa Public Schools, about the Greater Ozarks Center for Advanced Professional Studies (GOCAPS).

According to Horgan, GOCAPS is an internship program for 11th and 12th grade students.  There are three areas in which students can enroll:  healthcare, engineering/manufacturing and entrepreneurship.  The program allows students to get relevant, real life work experience in potential future careers, she says.
