A nationwide search has begun for a new Branson Chief of Police. The Missouri Police Chiefs Association (MPCA) will conduct interviews Monday and Tuesday in Jefferson City.  According to city officials, candidates will undergo thorough written, situational and psychological tests as well as panel interviews with sitting police chiefs throughout the state of Missouri. Once the MPCA testing is complete, the top candidates will be forwarded to the City of Branson, which will conduct further interviews, likely in the first part of February.

“It’s extremely important to us to have the proper fit for this job. We are looking for someone who embraces our core values, is dedicated to the growth of our community and will further enhance the professionalism within the police department,” said Branson City Administrator Stanley Dobbins.

An offer to the chosen candidate is expected at the beginning of March.
