MO Highway Patrol Releases Holiday Weekend Stats

There were four traffic fatalities in Missouri over the long holiday weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The counting period began Friday at 6 pm and ended at 11:59 pm Monday. 

There were 397 crashes, which resulted in 149 injuries and the four fatalities.  The Missouri Highway Patrol made 121 DWI arrests and 107 drug arrests on the state’s highways during that time period.

One traffic fatality occurred in each of these areas: Troop A, Lee's Summit, Troop C, Weldon Spring, Troop D, Springfield and Troop H, St. Joseph.

Eleven boating crashes occurred during the long weekend, which resulted in six injuries but no fatalities.  The Highway Patrol says there were 11 Boating While Intoxicated arrests and 15 drug arrests.

In 2015, 14 people were killed and 427 injured in Missouri over the holiday in 953 traffic crashes. Troopers investigated six boating crashes including four injuries and zero fatalities.
