A global telecommunications company is expanding its Springfield operations and will add another 200 plus jobs initially.

TeleTech Holdings, Inc. has an existing customer experience center in Springfield. It currently employs over 1,000 in the metro area. In a news release issued Wednesday, the company says it is opening a satellite location in Springfield this summer at 3216 S. National. The 20,000-square foot site is the former home of ITT Technical Institute.

“We are excited that TeleTech has again chosen Springfield as they grow,” Matt Morrow, president of Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement. “Our region’s economy is strong and our commitment to growing a strong workforce is evident in TeleTech’s decision. These new jobs are important to growing our economy and creating opportunities for all who live here.”

In preparation for the expansion, TeleTech is currently hiring leadership and administrative roles. It is also seeking customer care and inbound sales representatives, as well as healthcare associates. Hiring events are scheduled for the next two Tuesdays from 10 am to 4 pm. Another hiring opportunity is Monday, Aug. 28. All events will take place at the existing TeleTech Springfield Center at 1720 E. Primrose. More information is at
